Now in its twelfth successful year, this Wellcome Trust programme provides an outstanding opportunity for PhD students to train in areas of basic science that have direct relevance to the development of novel approaches to the prevention and treatment of infection.
Students who are awarded a place on the programme begin their studies by undertaking a year-long MRes course, comprised of three different lab rotations and dedicated teaching sessions. This enables students to discover and experience different lab environments and science disciplines, preparing them for life as a PhD student in the final three years of the programme.
